Wachovia Online Banking 2009
Now that Wachovia is changing over to Wells Fargo, having been bought out, we here at Online Banking 411 wanted to look at teh changes so far to Wachovia Online Banking 2009. And look at what we like about the Wachovia online banking site and hope to see kept around after the change to Wells Fargo.
One thing that the online banking at Wachovia website had that Wells Fargo doesn’t, in our opinion, is looks and simplicity. The graphics are simple, easy on the eyes, and the page isn’t cluttered with color changes and intrusive links. Wells Fargo? Bright red. Not pretty.
The services offered by both banks are basically the same, however. Wachovia Online Banking doesn’t have the reputation that Wellls Fargo does, however. Looking around the Internet, several reviewers and customers seem to be happy with the guarantees that Wells Fargo offers while Wachovia Online Banking 2009 never seemed to have those kinds of protections.
An improvement thanks to the merger is the incorporation of the automatic savings program which deducts an extra $1 from your checking every time you use your debit card and puts it into your savings account. This automatic savings is a bonus to online banking at Wachovia now that it’s switching to Wells Fargo.
The one thing that we really hope Wells Fargo keeps when the Wachovia Online Banking site is totally integrated with theirs is the simple layout and crisp page load times. Wells Fargo, frankly, doesn’t have that and it would be a lesson learned if they incorporated that into a new site when the merger with Wachovia Online Banking 2009 is complete.
