Wachovia Online Banking 2009

Now that Wachovia is changing over to Wells Fargo, having been bought out, we here at Online Banking 411 wanted to look at teh changes so far to Wachovia Online Banking 2009.  And look at what we like about the Wachovia online banking site and hope to see kept around after the change to Wells Fargo.

One thing that the online banking at Wachovia website had that Wells Fargo doesn’t, in our opinion, is looks and simplicity.  The graphics are simple, easy on the eyes, and the page isn’t cluttered with color changes and intrusive links.  Wells Fargo?  Bright red.  Not pretty.

The services offered by both banks are basically the same, however.  Wachovia Online Banking doesn’t have the reputation that Wellls Fargo does, however.  Looking around the Internet, several reviewers and customers seem to be happy with the guarantees that Wells Fargo offers while Wachovia Online Banking 2009 never seemed to have those kinds of protections.

An improvement thanks to the merger is the incorporation of the automatic savings program which deducts an extra $1 from your checking every time you use your debit card and puts it into your savings account.  This automatic savings is a bonus to online banking at Wachovia now that it’s switching to Wells Fargo.

The one thing that we really hope Wells Fargo keeps when the Wachovia Online Banking site is totally integrated with theirs is the simple layout and crisp page load times.  Wells Fargo, frankly, doesn’t have that and it would be a lesson learned if they incorporated that into a new site when the merger with Wachovia Online Banking 2009 is complete.

Wachovia Loan Rates

Today, here at Online Banking 411, we’re going to look at what is offered in Wachovia loan rates.  There are several types of Wachovia loans, of course, so we’ll look at each individually and see what’s being offered right now.

All rates listed will assume you have the pre-requisites for that type of loan, such as good credit, required equity or down payments, income verification, and so forth.

For educational loans, the loan rates at Wachovia are 5.60% and 6.80% annual percentage rate (APR) fixed, depending on options, for a Stafford Loan while ParentGrad loan coverages are at 8.50% APR fixed.

Mortgage loans are also an important consideration for loan rates at Wachovia.  A 30-year fixed loan is as low as 5.125% or 5.318% APR.  An FHA bumps that up to 5.5% or 6.245% APR.  15-year fixed rate Wachovia loans are 4.625% or 4.952% APR.  Adjustable rates (ARM) loans on 5-year (or 5/1) terms are at 4.00% (3.856% APR).  An FHA ARM of the same type is 3.875% or 3.477% APR.

If you’re interested in a vehicle purchase, Wachovia loan rates will vary by location, of course, but new vehicle purchases are at 7.6% APR and 8.2% APR on national average.  Larger purchases for motor homes will be different and smaller purchases such as motorcycles and ATVs are at higher interest, but shorter terms.

Finally, several credit card offers are available for those who need Wachovia loans that aren’t tied to anything.  Most have a 0% introductory rate for up to six months and offer 8.5% APR and higher in rates, depending on credit worthiness and card type chosen.  For newcomers to credit, the low-balance, starter cards are available with credit lines up to $2,000 and APRs starting at 14%.

Wachovia, of course, is FDIC insured.  For the latest and localized loan rates at Wachovia, be sure to check your local branch.

Bank Online Banking

Every major bank in the country, and most smaller ones as well, have at least some form of online banking.  There are certain things we’ve come to expect, as customers, from our banking online.  We here at Online Banking 411 thought we’d point out the obvious and tell you what you should be expecting from a good online baking service.

First, every bank offering online access should, at the very least, have a tough bank online banking of security measures to keep your information and accounts safe.  This is an industry standard and if your bank only requires the bare minimum to log into your accounts–even just to view balances–then you need to pack up and go elsewhere.

The minimum requirements for online banking are simple: access to account balances, histories, and transfers.  Everything you can do at an ATM, you should be able to do online (except get cash, of course–wouldn’t that be nice?).

Most people banking online prefer to have the ability to look at canceled checks, do at least the minimum with mobile banking (checking accounts) and many like getting alerts when events happen such as automatic deposits, withdrawals, or checks clearing.

A bank online banking usually offers all of their basic banking information, such as rates, fees, branch locations, background on some account types, and so forth.  This helps the customer and saves phone calls and emails to get answers.  Your online banking service should offer plenty of information about the institution, the accounts they offer, and so forth.

Overall, banking online has become a mainstay and is considered standard now for banking services.  If you’re not banking online, you’re probably feeling awful outdated.  It saves time, frustration, and makes life on the go much easier.

Wachovia Online Banking Review

It’s time for us at Online Banking 411 to show you what’s the latest at Wachovia Online with a Wachovia Online review.  If you’re a customer at Wachovia, or considering becoming one, this look at Wachovia online banking is for you.

The newest addition at Wachovia Online is mobile banking so you can do much of your banking from your mobile phone or smart phone.  The online system for mobile banking allows you to check balances, get alerts when checks or deposits go through, transfer from one account to another, and more.  For those on the go, Wachovia online banking ’s mobile banking is great.

In fact, the largest complaint heard with Wachovia online review sites is that Wachovia’s site is a litte cluttered.  It doesn’t seem that bad, but some prefer simplicity.

Now that Wachovia Online is merged with Wells Fargo Bank, some services are inter-twined.  Home mortgages are one of those.  For the most part, however, Wachovia online banking is still completely separate from Wells Fargo and may be for some time.

If you’re a Wachovia customer, you’ll probably find Wachovia Online to be a great time saver.  Try it.

Wells Fargo Buys Wachovia Corp

The Federal Reserve on Sunday approved the Wells Fargo Wachovia acquisition.  This acquisition took a while to complete due to Citibank’s fight to also buy Wachovia Corp, the holding company for Wachovia Bank.  But on Sunday the Feds finally solidified the deal between Wachovia & Wells Fargo.

Online Banking 411 typically discusses Wachovia online banking but with the recent acquisition, we will be covering more news about Wells Fargo.  Wells Fargo is a San Francisco based bank.  And, It is one of the largest banks in the United States.  We are hoping the Wells Fargo acquiring Wachovia will be good news for Wachovia account holders.
